Network Analyst – IT Department

Regina, SK

We are currently seeking for our client, one of Canada’s largest companies in the heavy equipment Industry a Network Analyst to join our IT/IS team in Regina, Saskatchewan.  The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and monitoring existing network devices and circuits.  They will provide input on new technology and be a key player in the design and deployment of chosen initiatives.  They will stay abreast of new technologies and practices related to network and security disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, maintain and support existing infrastructure including datacenter networks, site networks, corporate Wi-Fi, VOIP systems, enterprise firewall, etc.
  • Site based work installing or supporting network
  • Work with vendors to identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving the overall network performance and security.
  • Identify opportunities and establish policies to ensure the security of the corporate network.
  • Provide advanced network support to the service desk team.
  • Mentor and coach peers.
  • Some travel will be required.

 

Required Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in a dedicated network support role.
  • Relevant Post-Secondary Degree, College Diploma.
  • Expert knowledge and experience with the following network elements:  IP Subnetting, TCP/IP, DNS, IP trunking, NAT, VLAN, routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP), enterprise wireless solutions, VOIP, VPN Tunnels, load balancing, network performance monitoring tools, etc.
  • Capacity to work autonomously with limited supervision.
  • Strong problem solver that adheres to best practice solutions.
  • Clear and concise communicator – both oral and written.
  • Candidates with the following technical skills/training will be preferred:
    • Cisco certifications (CCNP, CCNA) or similar industry certifications.
    • Experience with Cisco products such as ISR routers, Catalyst and Nexus switches, UCS.
    • Experience or training with Fortinet firewall and security products.
    • Experience with data center network architecture and equipment.
