The TCS Group of Companies has an opening for a Programmer within our busy, expanding, third-party logistics organization.  Trenton Cold Storage offers customized cold storage, temperature-controlled warehousing, and distribution since 1902. With seven facilities in Ontario and two in Alberta, Trenton Cold Storage provides Canada with more than 34,000,000 cubic feet of cold storage and refrigerated warehouse space

Reporting to the Director of Information Systems, the Programmer will be responsible for supporting existing software, developing integrations, troubleshooting system problems, and coding user or business requests

Successful Applicant will possess:

• Programming College Advanced Diploma
• Understanding of PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, and T-SQL required
• Apache Web Server required
• Knowledge of file-based and SQL database technology, VB scripting, PHP, Perl, and Windows server technologies required
• Window’s workflow and EDI knowledge an asset

Major Duties include:

• Review application design and processing activities to ensure that project requirements and company needs are being met.
• Design or write program specifications based on consultations with end users.
• Compile code into programs and correct errors detected in the compilation process.
• Analyze, evaluate, and test program coding prior to implementation to ensure the application is ready for production operation.
• Correct any coding errors uncovered throughout the testing phase; clearly document all changes made.
• Modify and integrate existing programs to ensure customer needs are met.
• Provide technical assistance by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, or questions with programs.
• Schedule and perform regular improvements, patches, fixes, and other upgrades or maintenance.
• Train end users or technical support staff to use and support the program.
• Build reports to support business analysis and improvement initiatives.
• Conduct research on forthcoming programming trends, tools, languages, and standards.
• Work with other information systems staff members to resolve problems and improve efficiency.
