Information Systems Manager

 

Role Summary

The Information Systems Manager understands company business processes and recommends best practices in the use of information systems (ERP, WMS, FMS/TMS). They have a thorough understanding of the different distribution business processes. They are a key player in the development of specifications and validate the consistency of software solutions. They align their team for project priorities and maintain an excellent relationship with users to understand their requirements and to propose solutions to eliminate tasks that have no added value. This position works out of the Home Office in Surrey, BC.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

 

  • Appropriate the business processes of the company (ex : Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, …)
  • Oversee the operation of the information software in place (ERP, WMS, FMS/TMS)
  • Actively participate in defining new needs and improvements
  • Write functional analyzes that describe how to solve a business problem using technology
  • Ensure the consistency of technological solutions in North America and within the group
  • Define and disseminate priorities to the team of business analysts, programmer analysts and functional support and assist them in achieving their objectives
  • Coach, supervise, train, lead and participate in the development of the employees under their responsibility
  • Work in synergy with different departments to achieve corporate objectives
  • Foster the emergence of ideas for improvement and innovation within the team
  • Perform any other related tasks requested by the immediate superior

 

Required Qualifications

 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or in an appropriate discipline.

 

Knowledge

  • Hold 6 to 12 years of experience including 5 years in management.
  • Microsoft Office suite.

Expertise:

  • Deep understand of the business processes in a distribution company
  • Master the functionalities and processes covered by systems such as ERP, WMS, CRM, FMS/TMS and BI
  • Master database environments such as SQL Server, MySQL in transactional or starred models
  • Understand different programming languages to help resolve complexities with programmer analysts
  • Master the AGILE project management methods

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Regular full-time schedule
  • Office work
  • Must be willing to travel throughout Canada and the U.S.A.
